Win Win Win

Win Win Win is generally perceived as a horses that's better sprinting and out of his element going classic distances against the best 3yos. He may not be as good as the very best 3yos, but I'm starting to think he can beat a pretty good field going long if he finds the right spot. He had a pretty rough trip in the Blue Grass. The start was rough. Then he got checked later. That was a day when inside speed seemed to have an advantage and he was outside closing. He lost quite a lot of ground in the Preakness on a day when ground loss like that was not ideal. It's no so much that he's really good or has a good style, but the perception may be lower than the reality at this point.

He'd have shot in the Iowa, Indiana, or Oklahoma Derby.

Even there, he needs a perfect set up.

Can I get 7/2?

He got a good TG number off the Preakness. I usually discount those ground loaded figures, but I think he probably ran well that day.

Par for the course for Win Win Win. Always seems to get favorable numbers due to "trip", but never seems to really contend in races that matter.

Always an excuse. Always a next race horse. Seems more fitted to be a 1 turn closer that could be great at a 1 turn mile.

I wouldn't touch him at under 6-1, maybe not even then, depending on the field.

He is a horse who just has not delivered the pizza in his 30 minutes.

Forget about 30 minutes, we need 12 second furlongs.

It has been at least 20 years since I've bet a horse 1st time turf in a stakes race. But I wasn't going to allow Win Win Win to actually win win win today without me. This wasn't the spot I was hoping for, but 4-1 was good enough.

In a way I'm disappointed because now they will probably keep him on turf when I still think he's better on dirt than his reputation.

Came home slow after a perfect, dream set up against weak opponents.

A mile however does seem his best trip.

Hey, even a broken clock deserves to be right once in awhile. :-)

It was a good spot if he handled the turf. He had worked on it. So they must have been comfortable he handled it OK. That's why I took a little shot in a situation I usually avoid.
