Good. Get you surgery and therapy done on someone else's dime.
Before someone tries to bring it up, it's not sexual orientation, but a mental disorder, and last time I looked, they were turning down people with mental disorders forever.

Whatever it is, getting the surgery done on our dime is 100% unacceptable.
Do we let other people join up to get nose jobs, tummy tucks, breast implants?
I have no problem with transgenders serving in the military.
But you get discharged the same as your were inducted. If you need that surgery, I have no problem with you getting it, but your not fit to serve if you need it that bad.
Get it before or get it after.
Your choice.
Your bill.

You should put the topic in the thread title, not just "breaking news". Are you new around here? 
In order to receive sexual reassignment surgery, the soldier has to receive approvals from a military doctor as well as up the command chain. This is the only instance I can find of it happening..

I remember another thread where this was all covered, and the cost of these surgeries was barely a drop in the bucket compared to how much the military spends on boner-pills..
