CJ Johnsen is the best. Racing needs a lot more guys like him in important positions.

No x wagering on KD.

There ought to be a law.

$.50 Pick 5 (3-8-15-10-8) (5 Correct) Paid: $21,086.55 Pick 5 Pool $130,789.00

nice payoff; didn't attempt to hit the pick 5, was having trouble trying to pick 1!

No expert here but if you understand pedigree, the nature of turf racing in general, some of the summer biases on turf courses around the ovals,KD can be fat city. You get some revenge on some of those turf courses!

The races are won or lost on that turn before the stretch or is it a square? Just a very odd course design that anything can happen and it does.

I was there yesterday . Great time and a pretty good crowd . Just a funky layout because of the shape of the track.

It probably has to do with the Kentucky racing commission. KD wanted to be on it last year. There was an article about it on DRF. CJ Johnsen even posted on twitter that he's a proponent of exchange wagering. The commission didn't approve it last year and I'm assuming the same happened this year. Seems to be a trend.

As an aside, CJ Johnsen is amazing. Racing definitely needs more people like him. KD is definitely getting some of my money tomorrow.

Loved the races so far.

Noticed that the KY TurfCup has a Makerfecta. He's got 4 of the 12 runners as it stands.

You can get 12-1 on Soglio who may like the pace, tho slower than most the field. But I might take Leparoux on Wilke's horse Nessy, closer with the post, if he doesn't take much money at 15-1.

Interesting race considering who the jock's are on you get a mix of potential despite the presence of the dominant trainer.

As someone who isn't wagering right now, but is watching the live stream, I love that KD races actually go off pretty close to their scheduled post times. I understand why post times are inexact, but sometimes I get aggravated waiting an extra 10 or 15 minutes.

Congrats to the team at KD on their $10 million handle day. Very impressive.

Lots to like about the KD racing, including the lower takeouts, challenging races, and Euro style course. When I've been on track, I've also been treated very well, both during the live meet and simulcasting.

But I don't love it.

I can't pick my nose there, and I don't think it's the circuit. While Ellis Park is one of my top five favorite tracks (in terms of ROI), and Keeneland has the best venue in the States (IMHO), it's hard to love a track when you don't cash very often. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but like most players I do better at some venues and learn to avoid others (Fair Grounds, Northern California, Emerald Downs, etc.) But Kentucky Downs is a special kind of hell for me - with tempting races on paper that look like great investments, and results that leave me scratching my head.

Only one of the last five years has been profitable for me there, and that's when I churned out a measly $13 profit last year. It's not a track for me that can be played off the PPs alone....

I have to agree with positive remarks about the racing at KD.
A refreshing change with Big fields, Big Value, and it’s all on my favorite surface: Turf.
The best part is that the tote analysis has been producing some nice results so far.
We’ve been posting some live selections here:
