Trump throws Cohen under the bus. A few weeks ago, Cohen's lawyer told a federal judge that Cohen had only 3 clients, Trump and two others.
Today on Fox and Friends, Trump said that he didn't know much about Cohen or his business, and that Cohen only handled a "tiny, tiny little fraction" of his legal work.
Trump did say that Cohen handled the Stormy deal.
Quote:
The president admitted on Thursday that Cohen did work on his behalf to reach a nondisclosure agreement with Daniels, who was paid $130,000 just before the 2016 presidential election.
“Like with this crazy Stormy Daniels deal, he represented me and you know, from what I see, he did absolutely nothing wrong,” Trump said.
Trump previously said he had no knowledge of the payment Cohen made as part of the agreement.

I guess I'm dense, but where did he throw Cohen under the bus? I thought it was common knowledge that Cohen handled the Stormy matter since Cohen admitted to paying her $130,000. I hope none of you thoughts that was her bill for "services rendered" to Cohen.

It was common knowledge that Cohen handled the deal. But Trump had previously denied knowledge of the deal. And now he is denying pretty much everything Cohen said about his relationship with Trump, making Cohen looks like a fake and a liar.

You see it one way... but let's look.
Say Cohen was hired to fix Trump's porch. Cohen can say I work at Trump's Home... which would be true. But Trump could also state Cohen has never worked in my Home. Which also would be true.
So you see Cohen's work for Trump may have been a big part of his load. But at the same time been a tiny part of Trump's world.

Wow... that stretch hurt at all?
It would seem that they had a pretty *cough* intimate *cough* working relationship. He would have to hold him in high-esteem to trust him to handle the sensitive stuff he tasked him with.

Well, since they raided his office and they have everything, it will all come out eventually anyway.
Really weird that Trump would distance himself if there is this potential mountain of evidence that they did everything together except share the same bed at night.
But you never know with Trump.

They weren't after Trump documents in the raid they were after documents Cohen was sent from someone else, and they want to keep them hidden from your prying eyes.

I heard today that they are looking into other Cohen business deals not related to Trump. Ones much easier to prove, probably in hopes he'll sing against Trump on some more trivial matter.

Like the two posts after this. I don't really know what all they are looking... none of us do. My guess is they will investigate leverage.
Trump as far as Cohen and the Daniels thing though has been all over the map. Its obvious the two were close. If you were paying off a pornstar would you dial (800) LAW-HELP or "that guy" you know pretty well who's also a lawyer.

I don't necessarily understand the finer point to this, but Judge Napolitano was on FOX yesterday and said that Cohen's problem (and Trump's as well) is that Cohen was a sloppy attorney who blurred the lines, and that sloppiness will jeopardize the attorney-client privilege that would normally be enjoyed by said clients.

Cohen is far from a handyman hired off the streets. A month ago, Cohen was Trump's guy in the eyes of the public, longtime friend and lawyer. Cohen was Trump's personal attorney for years, and had an office on the same floor of the Trump Towers as The Donald. Trump trusted him so much, he let Cohen operate freely on his behalf.
Now Cohen gets in a jam, and Trump doesn't know the guy?
Quote:
Before his remarks at a $35,000-per-plate fundraiser last June in Miami, Florida, President Donald Trump took the podium to acknowledge his biggest boosters in the crowd. Eventually, he got to Michael Cohen, the longtime private employee of the Trump Organization who is currently serving as “personal attorney” to the president. Trump praised Cohen’s lawyering, his loyalty, and his love for appearing on television.
“I haven’t seen Michael in a month,” he added, wistfully. “It’s good to see you, Michael. I miss you, man.”
The feeling was mutual.
Cohen, 51, isn’t just an employee of Donald Trump, he’s a disciple. He dresses in the same slightly too large suits and wide-knot silk ties. He talks in short punchy bursts and refers to his enemies as “haters” and “idiots.” Even their sleep schedules are the same. (“Well, I don’t sleep,” Cohen told The Daily Beast.) And when Cohen says he’d “take a bullet,” for Trump, one gets the impression he’s serious.
For over a decade, Cohen was Trump’s right-hand man and the two rarely spent much time away from their offices on the 26th floor of Trump Tower.
