Just so as not to make my own thread for this, was wondering on that final mandatory day of GP West, where I had 5 in a row on the pick 6, and 4 runners in the last leg, only to lose:

Why did the pick 5 pay a 4 out of 5, but the pick 6 not have a consolation? Just curious. Is it at all dependent on the number of winners? Both were mandatory payouts. Does it have to do with the $.50 vs. $.20 denomination?

Thanks, I figure it's one of the above possibilities. Waiting for the next mandatory ...

The Rainbow Pick 6 does not offer a consolation payoff when someone gets all six winners.
On the other hand the Pick 5 does offer consolations, even when someone gets all five winners.
