You can see that Biden made a nonsense statement to avoid answering whether he will preserve the filibuster and the Supreme Court’s current system of nine justices. Shamefully, Wallace let him get away with not answering. Wallace surely understands that Biden’s handlers plan to end the filibuster so that they can pack the court and add D.C. and Puerto Rico as states.

The Senate makes its own rules. Biden has nothing to do with it. Anyway, McConnell and the Republicans have already ended the filibuster.

Congress decides how many justices are on the Supreme Court. There weren’t always nine.

Republicans threw out the rule book in 2016 when they refused to consider Merrick Garland. Then threw it out again when they nominated Amy Coney Barrett in even more egregious circumstances.

Based on all the comments I saw around these parts before the debate I expected to see Biden soil himself, fall asleep, or just stroke out last night.

That obviously didn't happen and by all the metrics I've seen Biden came out of the debate considerably better than Trump.

Expectations for Biden were so low, all he had to do was not get checked into a nursing home last night midway through the debate and he was going to be declared the winner.

He did better than I expected.

The one disagreement (or addition) I have is that I saw a poll of Hispanic Americans where you'd expect Trump to get clobbered. In the poll I saw, over 60% favored Trump last night.

I don't think republicans realize that many Hispanics come from countries with at least some taste of big or socialist governments (which is why they left) and most are family oriented Christians (actually many Catholics) that are unlikely to look favorably on Catholic bashing of the Supreme Court nominee and other anti God/Bible rhetoric. The Hispanic vote is there for the taking by republicans if they want it over the next 4-8 years. They already have the Cubans and a LOT of Venezuelans.
