If you did even the slightest bit of research, you'd know that Buttigieg was a vehicle commander on convoy security detail in dangerous parts of Kabul for over 100 "missions". He doesn't claim to have engaged in direct combat, but I'm pretty sure he was wearing a uniform

He served six months in Afghanistan mostly as a computer guy doing Intelligence. There are fotos out there but many are of him all alone by his lonesome gazing onto the Afghan desert. Looks staged to me.
Believe what you want; but, to me, sweet Mrs. Pete is a fake, phony and fraud.
Personally, I do hope he becomes a major factor in this race. This way, people will eventually get to know the real Mayoress. Plus, next to Trump, Mrs. Pete will be exposed as the pip-squeak he really is.

I did some research, Fan Dan ...
Quote:
... You'd think the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, was renowned for diving on top of grenades when in fact he was dragging and dropping computer documents.
The Hill in May reported that Buttigieg spent all of six months in Afghanistan, from mid-March to mid-September of 2014. He didn't even miss Christmas at home. In his time there, he “coordinated intelligence sharing and targeting deconfliction” methods across military operations.
More from the report:
"Military officials who reviewed the documents ... note that [Buttigieg] likely did not engage in direct combat, which would have earned him a Navy combat ribbon. ...
Before his deployment to Afghanistan, Buttigieg was sent to Camp McCrady outside Fort Jackson, S.C., where he trained to become a “dirt sailor,” which is military slang for “Navy personnel assigned to Army-style jobs in combat zones.”

Five candidates on Wednesday — Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington and Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York — face the acute risk of missing the party’s polling and donor thresholds to qualify for the September debate. And falling off the debate stage is widely viewed as a potential death knell to a candidacy.
So those on the wings of the stage need to break out, and quickly. That could lead to more rhetorical combat. Mr. de Blasio, the mayor of New York City, was an aggressor with former Representative Beto O’Rourke of Texas in June but stepped on his own momentum by using a famous Che Guevara quote while still in South Florida. He later apologized.
Still, Mr. de Blasio showed in the last debate that he can be energetic and fluent onstage. Can he translate those skills into a moment that catapults him out of the bottom tier of candidates?

Simply put, no. He doesn't even have any support in NYC (please see any number of polls).

CNN moderators did such a terrible job last evening that the whole production became unwatchable.
That's too bad because I was interested in how each of the Candidates would present.
If CNN does the same tonight, there will be millions like me who'll just change channels.

CNN has Moe, Larry, and Curly as moderators.
Bill de Blasio - what a total joke!
He said he brings us hope tonight.
What, is he going to go swimming at Montauk during SHARK WEEK?

Bill de Blasio is a lazy incompetent Mayor. Everything he touches turns to dirt.
It will take years of hard work to undue the damage that he has created.
He is flat out failure.
