France, like much of Europe, hates the United States with a real passion. I've always thought that the primary reason being their vulnerability and dependence on the US to protect them. If Russia were to turn its big guns at them, who do you think would protect them?
European progressives are the world's worse. They hate our guts. When Trump (who they hate anyway) boast of "America first", their minds explode with anger and disgust.

"I am not a Greek...I am a citizen of the world", declared Socrates some 2,400 years ago. And I concur. I travel to Europe on a regular basis...and have never met anyone there who "hates the guts" of the American citizens who are walking the streets. Nor have I met any American citizens who "hate the guts" of their Russian, or French, or British, or Italian, or Greek counterparts. When the citizens of the different countries point the accusing finger at each other's nations, they are blaming GOVERNMENTS...and not the citizens at large.

No one in Europe hates the Americans for placing their country first...for the mere fact that the Europeans themselves ALSO place their countries first. "Nationalism" is hardly a United States phenomenon. It is a WORLDWIDE delusion. Will we ever stop falling for this "fake news" bullshit that the press always parades before us? How different from the Russian, or the French, or the British, or the Italian, or the Greek citizens...do we really think we are?

Fake news? The words against America, specifically Trump, spewed right from Macron's mouth! I heard his speech this morning.

I agree. But Trump's politics requires him to stir up his base. He is engaged in an endless campaign mode. Red meat to the 38% or so of the US citizens keeping them salivating.

Unfortunately among his base there are white supremacists who hear "nationalist" as a dog whistle aimed at them.

Trump's defense of the 'very fine people' at Charlottesville white nationalist march has David Duke gushing

Donald Trump Refuses to Condemn KKK, Disavow David Duke Endorsement

Trump using "nationalist" is hardly a coincidence

Macaron is French.
Of course he has nothing to be proud to so I doubt he understands either nationalism or patriotism.

When the British were asked why they worse RED coats into battle, they replied so that when an officer was wounded, he could still lead his troops and they would not be able to see he was wounded.

The next day, the French armies showed wearing BROWN pants.

.
The EU would thrash Russia...

Can we stop with all this nonsense.

The EU is pissed because Trump is dismantling a stable world order in the name of MAGA and American interest when his actions are anything but.

Ahh...when someone criticizes Trump...then he is criticizing AMERICA? I didn't know that...thanks for telling me.

The "fake news" is exactly this ridiculous slant that you yourself have infused into this Macron declaration. That a broad statement against "nationalism" is a specific verbal attack "against America".

What's next, a declaration that France will no longer compete in the Olympic Games?

A stable world order that benefits them, not us.
If the world is unstable, it is because Europeans area idiots and cowards and not capable of taking care of themselves.
Screw them.

"Fake news" and "ridiculous slant" is just your opinion. I have an opinion of my own.

I'm a citizen of America; Trump is in Paris representing America. I take Macron's criticism personally; you know, like most liberals like to defame Trump supporters (half of America) just for the mere fact that we support him...pick a couple of name-callers right from this site. Your tone of sarcasm clearly exemplifies that, as well.

I still don't know what it was that you edited in my post.

Edit: Now I do.
