WASHINGTON — President Trump issued a lengthy statement titled “Standing with Saudi Arabia” on Tuesday, acknowledging that the Saudi crown prince may have played a role in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey, but still reaffirming the American alliance with the Gulf kingdom.
“King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr. Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!” Trump wrote.
“ That being said, we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been a great ally in our very important fight against Iran. The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region.”

Stalin was our Ally. Should we tear down monuments of FDR. Many times in world history has a despot been welcomed with open arms despite the stench. Trump's position is reasonable.

Stalin had a few hundred thousand more killed than the Crown Prince. If not for Hitler, Stalin would be called the worst man in history. Both FDR and Truman worked with him - kept him as an allie. Truman spared Nazis who murdered US soldiers if they would come work for us.

White House chief of staff John Kelly authorized troops stationed at the southern border to engage in some law enforcement activities and potentially to use deadly force — if necessary, according to a report Wednesday.
The order, which may violate the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act, was issued late Tuesday and not signed by President Trump, only Kelly, the Military Times reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against President Donald Trump for his description of a judge who ruled against Trump's migrant asylum policy as an "Obama judge."
It's the first time the Republican-appointed leader of the federal judiciary has offered even a hint of criticism of Trump, who has previously blasted federal judges who ruled against him.
Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn't have "Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges." He commented in a statement released by the Supreme Court after a query by The Associated Press.
Roberts said on the day before Thanksgiving that an "independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."
