Offlee Wild.....how did they know?
I liked Offlee Wild. 15-1 ML. I log into my account with 13MTP and he is the 9/5 favorite! Why were his odds so low?

Not really. 38 bucks would be pure crap if the 1 was 15-1.

These were the most surprising odds i've seen in awhile. There was a phenomenal amount of very early money put on that horse. first odds i saw on the board were something like 8-5 about 35 minutes before the race. That horse already had like $30,000 on it, whereas the more 'obvious' choices like Funny Cide and Evening Attire were just getting warmed up [probably all under $10,000] i thought i was looking at the wrong race or had my numbers mixed up. I guess i should've gotten the hint and bet the horse to win instead of blowing money on an exacta comprised of various combinations of the horses that fininshed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th. Scott

openers
he opened at 7-5. with 35 Minutes to Post... Hung there for 20 minutes,.,,, Floated to 2-1 with 10 minutes left..and inched up a notch from there....
It was a head scratcher. He's facing 4 horses that Triple digit beyer on the regular. He had 1 triple to his name and that was 100, and the others were dropping 108's to 111's back to back to back...

Second start off a layoff, and lost ten pounds off his back from his comeback race to boot. There was a lot to like about Offlee Wild, and every angle was proven true today.

The only think that I liked about the horse was he was 1 for 1 with Dutrow and in that race ran his best beyer....and Dutrow is a magician.

Bubbles, that's all well and good, but the crowd is not generally that perceptive. I can't figure out how this horse was bet down so much....oh well....
Very exciting stretch run though, that's for sure....

Last two Beyers were 100 and 85!!?? Are we talking about the same horse (the winner, Offlee Wild)??
Offlee Wild was a GREAT pick by Bubbles, but why such a low price. Nothing in his PPs indicated he should have been bet down that low.
Last two Beyers of all the horses in the Mass Cap:
Offlee Wild 100, 85
The Lady's Groom 109, 109
Basil's Rhythm 78, 78
Gygistar 108, 110
Sarava 96, 89
On the Game 93, 94
Funny Cide 106, 109
Evening Attire 105, 104
Rogue Agent 105, 98
If you want to talk about Beyers, then Offlee Wild should have been the SIXTH CHOICE!!! LOL

Dave Litfin touted the horse in the DRF as well in his article. The secret must have been out amongst the racing community. Also, is it really tough to beat Funny Cide? Sarava? I was all ready to bet the horse until I saw the short price....either way you slice it, odd wagering patterns on the race.

OK, then according to BRIS, he should have been lucky to have been third choice....
