They had him come out to "introduce the races" and after that slurred disaster let him finish with an embarrassing Sinatra rendition.
Have zero clue as to why Del Mar would even take the risk of hiring the clown.

My track opinions, for what they are worth
Inside is not as good as the outside, no bias really in terms of running style on the main track.
You have to be much the best right now on the turf if you have no speed, mid and front pack runners have been dominant.

Yeah the longer odds who have ran well all seem to come from the outside posts.

Pretty sure they made contact before the wire and the 13 must have come out 6 lanes in the stretch despite Stevens whipping right handed.
Should have been a DQ for sure.
I’m telling you it’s Baedecker and McHargue. Until you get rid of them the incompetence will continue IMO.
We never quit,

A foul is a foul is a terrible rule no matter who the stewards are. It hasn't worked in the past and it will NEVER work.

Agree. They didn't apply their own rule in this case. Terrible non call.

I am tired of watching riders come out 6 paths and make contact, its not fair and dangerous, yet its constantly rewarded.

In this case Stevens was whipping right handed and doing the right thing.
But, I know what you're talking about in many cases and I agree that there's too much of it.

Yeah. And just wait until some horse is making a winning move, comes into contact with a tiring horse while moving to the front, drawing off by 10, and getting DQ'd. There would be a giant uproar.
The stewards just can't ignore whether or not the foul cost another horse a place
