It's not Winter, Tom, In fact, it's barely half way into the Fall.

OK, so now you understand why the races had to come off the turf? I'm confused. You think 20 degree weather is to be expected in mid November?
You are complaining for the sake of complaining. It's silly, Tom.

I'm saying we run in 20 degree weather a lot in the winter.
Why yesterday was it such a big deal?
Track looked fine the race I watched.

Weather has decimated NYRA....I have money in my NYRA bets account, I download the card, I boot up the streaming video and I see Dark Ops at 2/5 get eased after 2 furlongs in a 5 horse field and its a no.. I can't do it. Can't bet NYRA right now. Gulf Stream Championship meet can't start soon enough.
Although I was at Gulfstream West today. A beautiful 85 degree day, and some decent ponies. But the grounds are comical...and its all sad....
This is the perch the races are being called from...

So you think we wanted to take the races off the turf and cost ourselves a couple of million in handle?

The Fall Highweight was not a turf race. That is the race I was talking about. It was the only race I looked at all day.

You mean the race where two of the three scratched horses had run in a Stake a day earlier at Penn National?

We are going circles now - repeating what already was talked about. I made a comment, get over it. I promise I will not mention NYRA again this winter.
Or even look at it.

It's true that the winter has cut our autumn very short this year...but it's also true that the NYRA dirt fields were awfully short even during the MILDER autumn-weather days.
