Target said it will close nine stores across the country after struggling with crime and safety threats at those locations.

Target, which has nearly 2,000 stores in the U.S., has been outspoken about organized retail crime at its stores and said theft has driven higher levels of shrink.

Target is closing locations in New York City, Seattle, San Francisco and Portland.

I'm absolutely SHOCKED those are the cities listed...

It's a sad state of affairs when business are forced to close due to the lack of accountability from the politicians that govern those areas. Then, those same politicians will turn around and blame the businesses.

So for all you left wing lovers....... You claim on one hand that the left is for the impoverished and downtrodden. Yet it's the left's policy which force business out of these areas. Guess what happens to these areas once business leaves??? More poverty and downtrodden residents!!

The act of continuing the same thing, over and over, expecting a different result......hmmmm. Insanity???

This was what Obama was talking about when he wrote about fundamentally transforming America. When he went around apologizing for America. When he refused to embrace American exceptionalism.

Think back 10,15,20 years...think of how people thought and acted back then.

Don't worry about committing crimes...the gov't has your back...no bail...no serious consequences for "petty crimes" even though those "petty crimes" destroy everyone else's quality of life.

This is all planned...this is all the goal...working as intended....

Paul you always have the interest in viewpoints that can alter a view you may not have covered. With all stores it is a challenge to find, and retain good people. Many many years before Covid-19 I traveled to California with work, anyway I spent many different weeks in southern Cali. with the rental car and visited Target years before the chain came to New England. I thought the stores had better management in California and staffing compared to when the chain opened here near me. Then years later Covid-19 changes an already hurting Brick and mortar across the country. So the question is tough to configure and it goes to the heart of retail to ask where is its future.
