I can see trying to find the optimal grass for the local climate, but unless they had a clear reason to switch the grass type, I say, "If it's not broken don't fix it". Whatever their experts told them may be correct for the climate but not for racing??? I wonder what kind of grass other tracks in the area use. Maybe it's not even the grass. Maybe they screwed up the base/soil.
