2024 Kentucky Derby winner ?

I love playing this game with baby races at Sar, and I'm wondering if we just saw the Derby winner in R1...?

My pick is the #3 Hunt Ball who ran 2nd to an Asmussen horse.
Crown him !

When was the last time a horse that ran at 'Toga as a 2YO that won the Derby?

Looks to me maybe Super Saver in '09, 2nd in a MSW race. Big Brown won at the Spa in a turf MSW in '07. it's been awhile and with Derby winners now having less starts and starting their careers later, the trend will probably continue.
I missed Orb too in '13 too

I haven't looked at any numbers, but maybe there are some out there.

Where does a horses 1st start equate to KY Derby greatness. Not talking just W, but WPS.

Yes, we've gotten to the age where a horse that is a Maiden in February can go on and win the KY Derby. I'm more interested in those that start as a 2YO and go on and win or hit the board.

Dragoon Guard (or maybe he's the '24 Belmont Derby winner)

Update Update:

Hunt Ball will not, I repeat, will not win the 2024 Kentucky Derby

He just got the most ideal set up you could ask for at Aqu and came up short.
Disappointing to say the least !
