I am sorry to hear that, The work he did on the X-Factor (not the x-chromosome) with required performance measure still stands the test of time.

I really enjoyed reading his stuff. Shame I only came across it last year. Thought it was strange he hadn’t posted so I looked him up and the obituary came up

Rest In Peace Stanley. I learned so much from him, he forever changed the way i handicap the derby. Never knew he was from NJ like me, let alone buried in the town I grew up and went to high school.

I wish I found his stuff sooner and got a chance to interact with him more. Especially being a younger handicapper.

Quote from Stanley last year regarding buckpasser

“Here is an interesting point. No horse carrying Buckpasser in the X line has ever won the Derby if it did NOT qualify on my 37 4/5 final 3/8 in a big 5 prep race.“

Edit: I think Medina bucked this last year (no pun intended)

Hello, guys. I haven s been on, since Covid, and was looking to see if Stanley Caris had posted anything or responded to any Derby questions. I was shocked to hear of his death. His Triple Crown and Breeders Cup formulas were a big boom to my handicapping. We corresponded often. Racing lost a good guy. Sorry, for the loss.
