And now, the bad news... I'll bet they had every right to do that.
Private company. If we don't like it we can go elsewhere.
Just like PA.

Completely agree but I would bet that there was no way this was going to be known back then otherwise it may have hurt the bottom dollar. They now are somewhat untouchable.

I agree with you. And yet, do we honestly expect people to sign out of their Facebook accounts for good when this becomes widespread knowledge?

Dave,
Not at all. A great deal of people do not understand the BS they are fed and only think it must be the truth. Sadly they neither have the intellect nor experience to think anything other than what they are pushed onto by these websites.

I think there is also the issue of Facebook being so intertwined with many people's lives.

I never use FB.
for that reason - they are bottom feeding political hack running it.
We never seem to have a problem passing laws to protect us from our own choices, why do we allow FB to prey on ignorant people, which is what 90% of FB users are.

Keep a close watch on FB, this is a GREAT buying opportunity. I'm hoping to enter at 160.

I'm not sure, the "kids" have pretty much stopped using Facebook for their social media needs. It's certainly not going away but its status from world wide phenom to everyday device has been reached.

The news is making a BIG DEAL of how Cambridge Analytica helped Trump win the election. I remember how there was a 60 minute clip on how 0bama used social media to connect with young voters. There even was a facebook employee that had an office in 0bama's white house.
It is really odd how now democrat congress people want to make a big deal out of it. They feel facebook is intruding on private citizens, and yet do not seem to mind how NSA/FBI are capturing data on millions of americans....

Exactly right. This is why this latest Cambridge flap is another nothing-burger.

And I think most here have probably forgotten that how Nurse Ratchet during her campaign complained about how Obama wasn't sharing all his data treasure trove with here.

Would love to see Facebook implode.
