Minnie Minoso

Minnie Minoso, long-time Chicago White Sox star and one of two players (along with Nick Altrock) to appear in a major-league game in five different decades, has passed away in Chicago at the age of either 89 or 90 (depending on the source).

I should also add that he led the American League in number of times hit by a pitch in ten out of eleven years from 1951 to 1961, missing only 1955, when he tied for fourth, with teammate Nellie Fox finishing first. (Two other White Sox players also finished in the top ten in that category that year. Minnie must have been giving them all lessons.)

My aunt, a fervent White Sox fan loved Minnie. He was a great player on both sides of the ball. I think the 5 decade thing was just a stunt, though.
