Need help on finding some info

Hello: I need to find a book or info on, how to use track variants in my handicapping. In the DRF, they have after the pp odds, 96-08.. 96 speed being the speed number, and 08 being the track variant. This is where I go blank. I have read the DRF explaination of this. Is there some info, out there on how to get to know this allot better, and how do other poeple use this in their handicapping.Thank You Chrisl
