National Tote Delay...
Has been a problem all day. Delta Downs has been in a delay for almost 45 minutes in starting their Sunday card, but other tracks are still running? This is one of the problems that plague our sport and should be right up there with takeout as a priority if this game is going to survive.....

Sad to say, I've had no trouble placing bets through Twinspires all day.

I'm betting with Twinspires as well, but no wagering on Delta, and Fair Grounds has had tote delays all day even though they are still able to take wagering.

Racinos do not need "horse racing customers".
The show goes on for the horsemen.

Wasn't sure it meant ADW's were having trouble or the host tracks were.
I'll change it to "sad to say, Gulfstream has had no trouble taking my bets."

Hit the 6th and 7th at Tampa and STILL haven't had my Phonebet.com account credited yet...it's been 3 hours!!! I've been assured it will be as soon as the problem is rectified.

If this happens on Kentucky Derby day.
Do they run the race
Considering they went through the trouble of "puttin' on the show".

While I understand the horseplayers position, delays in running the races can and will affect a horses performance. Just take lasix for example. Lasix is administered at a pre-determined timeframe prior to a race. If this timeframe is extended by 30-45 minutes the affects of lasix WILL diminish and performance WILL be impacted. Racing 45 minutes after post may in fact work against the horseplayer.
I see the decisions made today as appropriate and fair to all parties.

At SoCal otbs Sunday there were a few delays for results to be posted official at several tracks around the country. A few complaints from guys that said they needed the money to bet the upcoming races with. No problems in wagering into any track.

Yes in Las Vegas, we also was watching races that we could not bet and long delays on cashing tickets.
Is it not time for horse racing to finally get out of the dark ages with their antiqued wagering and all these different systems and spent some money and update to the latest technology?
This is 2011 not 1955.
BTW: The pari mutual system already has broken down a few years ago on Kentucky Derby Day in Las Vegas and the books went back to the house booking the bets with limits.
