Hint - they don't.

Funny how that works. Liberals constantly look down their long, condescending snouts at the masses because the masses are asses. The masses cannot be trusted to think for themselves. Left to their own, they almost never do anything right.
The masses can't raise their kids right, which is why it take a [government-run] village to do that job.
The masses can't be trusted to teach their kids the basic facts about the "birds and bees", which is why federally-funded public schools have been charged with that responsibility.
The masses can't be trusted to own firearms, which is why the ultimate goal of government is overthrow the 2nd Amendment and confiscate all private citizens' guns.
In a state like Kalifornia (poverty center of the U.S. and home of Poop City), parents can't be trusted to home-school their kids and have made it virtually impossible for parents to school their own children at home.
The masses cannot be trusted to listen to opposing political views or commentaries on TV or radio, and those that offer such views for consumption are openly ostracized, demeaned, criticized, etc. And even worse, public officials have called for regulations regulating their free speech.
Whenever the masses elect a Republican president, they Shirley cannot be trusted, as the liberals do all they can to overturn the unacceptable results.
The list is virtually endless. Yet, when some leftist airhead finds a survey that sends a tingle up his leg and tickles his ears, the the low-info masses who responded to the survey are more trustworthy than God himself. Or if you're an atheist or agnostic -- more trustworthy than man's best friend.
Funny how that works...(oops, I already said that).
