Lived up to the hype at 3-5 winning easily in a race that didn't want to be run! Once they finally got them in and running, he was much the best.

Both races 5 and 7 were promising, 7 a little faster overall but 5 much faster early.

Didn't see the 5th - I am at Arlington today, have to watch the replay.

Lot of very confident money was uneasy for a few seconds there, loading into the gate.
The money came in surprisingly heavy, as if the #2 was no threat in a fairly run race.
Looked like Saez either tried to 'flop' or was legitimately cut off for a second, then tried to regather and tackle the winner in vain.

His horse tried to bolt, not a fan of Saez tactics but this was a case of him doing a good job not to take out half the field.

Another Asmussen runner that looked very good, as did the runner up.

Rough trips in that race, looks like a 2 turn horse to me.

I'm sure Garth will be a lot sharper next time, but 1/5. Yikes. That's a lot of money that just went up in flames.

I always wonder who are the people that bet these first time horses at those kinds of prices. I know it is Baffert, but from the rail and going only 6f, I don't get it.

I would add that horse did not have a sprinter build. I had no interest in betting against him but 1/5 was a bit silly.
