I love her voice, thanks for posting. What is really interesting is the video of the voice teacher who evaluated her rendition and talked a lot about how much vocal processing was going on.
Your post reminded me of another amateur singer...a true unknown...whose voice and songwriting I really love. When American Idol had a songwriting competition years ago, she and her writing partner made the semi-finals. Her site is down (I think she got married a couple of years ago) but I found her songs via the Wayback Machine. Unfortunately, the mp3s take forever to load from there. Her profile is still up on Bandmix so have a listen. Only three songs but better than nothing. Pennies in the Water is my favorite. Via Lauren

I was just a lil' pup when this song came out. I had older cousins who lived three houses away and it seemed like Gene Pitney was always on the record player there. When I hear this and Liberty Valance it really takes me back.

This reminds me of sitting in the backseat fighting with my brother while we were driving during holiday break.

Col Parker tried to buy exclusive performance rights to this song for Elvis Presley. Dolly wasn't selling.
Whitney Houston version is also great.
