1st ARKANSAS BRED DERBY WINNER?
Might not be as crazy as the title sounds. HE MAN CAN beat a very good field of 3 year olds today at Churchill. He was just getting rolling at the end of a mile and an eighth. He's for real people.

You're 100% correct Hop. Thanks. I think I used to call HE MAN CAN in Ca. That stuff happens to me all the time. Guess I've just been around too long.

What a nice colt! But you had better take a look at Uncle Chuck in yesterday's 2nd race at Santa Anita. I suspect though,if he stays sound, the Travers Stakes might be the target for UC.

Nice horse, but from a speed figure perspective he has a long way to go to be considered a serious contender in any 3yo graded race. He is still pretty lightly raced and young so anything is possible of course but highly unlikely he even makes the Derby gate.

since the Kentucky Derby is in September, i am wondering if they will have 20 top 3 year olds in the starting gate.

His first route at OP was a TG 3 1/4. If he went forward which looked possible. He's getting into pretty rarefied air.

It's on the tip of my tongue, but....
There was an Arkansas bred gelding who went off favorite in the KY Derby.
Late 1980s or early 90s. Can't think of his name. Obviously, he ran out.
Anyone remember?

Visually impressive. He caught my eye in the Rainbow. The way he raced in his last two makes me think that he can be competitive in Graded competition. His next start will be for points.

I stand corrected - he's the one.
Arkansas Derby winner.
KY bred.

Probably meant Prairie Bayou. Was the 1993 favorite, was gelded, was owned by the same Arkansas connections as Demons Begone, and to add further confusion was sired by a horse named Little Missouri.
Like Demons Begone, he was a KY-bred.
