the incompetence of accurate horserace timing is just a microcosm of the larger american society. at my local pharmacy i have to double check the medical supplies the pharmacist gives me because they make mistakes. this was unheard of just a few years ago. we all know the shape american society is in and that it is dysfunctional.
a popular teacher of some handicapping folks has a phrase he mentions, when there is a decision to be made;"if you are going to sit, sit. if you are going to stand, stand, but above all, don't wobble. and right now in all sectors of america we are wobbling.
