Dream Ahead now a 3 time G1 winner employing the 'avoid Frankel' strategy.

She moved to early for a seven furlong race.
I doubt off of that effort anyone beats her in the BC Mile.

She was a very good second. Dream Ahead got the target to run at, and it may have made the difference. William Buick is quickly turning into one of the world's best jockey's.

Such a shame, Dream Ahead retired now.

She may have lost a step. But she still ran 7f in 1:18 . That trainer of Dreamahead says he's retired now.

Race was run 4 seconds faster than her win last year, so I just can't buy any belief that she's lost a step.

Ground was soft last year, with the warm summer/fall, much harder today

I understand that, but but to believe that a horse that just ran 7 furlongs in 1:18 has somehow lost a step, especially after she quickened like she did is nuts.
It was the fastest time since 1970 (maybe ever) in the race and she lost by a nose.

I thought she ran great. I know they did not have her at her best as they are looking forward to the BC Mile.
A side note: the camera angles are the worst I have ever seen anywhere???

Dream Ahead certainly ran a great race.. isn't racing all about running against others? It is too bad they are planning to retire Dream Ahead already!!
ps: Buick is turning into one of the world's best jockeys. (no apostrophe at the end!)

It's not 7f, it's 1400m, which is about 27ft short of 7f. The first half of the race is downhill. But, it's still a very fast time.
