I get annoyed at the way they promote it, who gives a crap. It should not be something to advertise.
"Sue Bird gets engaged." If you see that headline and it is anybody but Hollywood elite you know it is a same sex couple. If Sue Bird was heterosexual you would never hear of a fiancee or husband unless he was someone very famous.

Remember the early primary debates with the full fields? Pete was the only one whose spouse was on stage at the end every time. Why doesn't he just walk around with an I am gay sign. I really don't see what benefit there is to this, labeling people all the time.

Lisa Leslie was probably the first FAMOUS female WNBA player, she got married to a man while playing. I don't recall that being front page news on ESPN. In fact I don't think it was mentioned at all.
You could probably just do some Goggling and quickly make a list of the gay WNBA players, while it would be tough to find out how many are in relationships with men.
How if a presidential cabinet member has children is it ever mentioned?
