The fact that he was able to win at Gulfstream (and his m/l was 20-1) despite not being one of the high speed horses is just a testimony to how good he is. Mucho macho stakes was a blessing for the odds......a mile was much too short a distance for him and he also got bumped all over the place, like in the champagne, where he also stumbled. 1 mile is a joke for him......Gulfstream aint his track. I'm thinking you would not have liked Carry Back.
CoH just drips class to me...beautiful classy Farish homebred.
I want to see him do well, we need to get some o' that Sadler's Wells and Danehill blood over here more with American breeders. They will do just fine on dirt despite those knees that go back a bit. that can all be bred out (but we missed the boat on this I think).

I like this one for The Belmont.

BW will be just fine there.

Yeah ya know I'm actually looking way forward to the BEL this year with BW, CH, TAX, and hopefully others like Dunph, Mucho Gusto, etc.
I'm thinking I will keep more money in my pocket and wait for the BEL and go easy on the Derby.
(and, Go Emerson!)

Maybe somebody can explain the why of this.
Cuz, honestly, I haven't seen the lack of love for him elsewhere.
So hit me with your "why he isn't on anybody's top 10" yet.
I fully realize that once the talking heads get going, all sorts of previously unmentioned horses will get named, but I like you guys who participate in the early topics, before all that happens, cuz I respect those having an opinion that doesn't involve buying it or getting it from someone else, if you know what I mean.
(honestly, once all that garbage comes out, I pretty much ignore all the horse names 2-3 days out....)

I don't know why he isn't on anyone's top ten list but here is my perspective.
Colt is well bred and I've have had my eye on him since last year. From what I’ve read his brother is the undefeated Timeform Top Ranked Frankel. What his breeder is attempting is what American breeders accomplished in the early 20th century – importing and infusing European stamina into the American thoroughbred. This particular son of Noble Mission may not have inherited his sire’s stamina. Had he done so, he likely would have circled the field in the FOY and run off with the race.
Still early yet, put in two stellar works and is flyin' under the radar; still got my eye on him . . .

Country house can absolutely win the race if the track favors closers

Or if it was the old way - they allowed a third of the field to be pure sprinters who really had no business being in the race.

That is true as well haha.
The way it is now almost makes the race really dull. The always dreaming race stunk in my opinion. But it is better this way

So far, since the new rules, it's been the undefeated-at-3 dominating the win spot. And just when things got easier, they put three of them in at the same time.

I cannot get passed of these horses for the super: Omaha, Roadster, Game Winner, Improbable, WWW, Tacitus and Tax. I dropped Long Range Toddy after the AD. It does not sound like a big payoff.

I'm starting to come around to that side, too. A couple weeks ago I was feeling like there were several that will be in the 10- to 20-1 range that could legitimately lay claim to a spot in the the top four, and if two or three of them hit the payoff could be very large. I'm less confidant of that now. The preps seem to me to have been dominated by the classier pace-setters and -pressers, and I'm not seeing a crazy speed duel among those guys that will burn them out.

Those are the exact ones I have. I do not like another horse in the race, period.
