Smart statements you will not see from him or them, the mous operandi they use is mountains of garbage until you get tired of dealing with them or you call them a name out of frustration and they go running to Mike.

Or the turkey is sacrificing the boys in the interest of appearing to do something effective.

Since you think Trump (pretty lame to be calling him a "turkey") is just playing games "in the interest of appearing to do something effective," if you were president, what would you now be doing, albeit a bit too late, to protect our border, protect our border patrol agents and protect the many American people who are sure to be in immediate harms way, if the caravan's 'plan' were to come to fruition?:
Quote:
A few people pitched tents at the Tijuana beach plaza while most, like Henry Salinas, 30, of Honduras, planned to sleep there in the open.
He said that he intended to wait for thousands more in the caravan to arrive and that he hoped to jump the fence in a large group at the same time, overwhelming Border Patrol agents.
“It’s going to be all against one, one against all. All of Central America against one, and one against Central America. ... All against Trump, and Trump against all,” he said.
Migrant caravan groups arrive by hundreds at US border

Yeah right, he's doing it all just "in the interest of appearing to do something effective."
Lay claim to...

What has he done in two years to take any meaningful steps to fulfill his big plans regarding immigration?
He was going to deport 12 million illegals and let the "good ones" back in. He was going to build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. What has he done about the majority of illegals who came into the country legally and overstayed their visas?
A YUGE force behind Trump's election win was his promise to deal with illegal immigration. What has he accomplished? What has he even tried to accomplish?

My question to you was not meant to be rhetorical: '...if you were president, what would you now be doing, albeit a bit too late, to protect our border, protect our border patrol agents and protect the many American people who are sure to be in immediate harms way, if the caravan's 'plan' were to come to fruition?'
Regarding your 'deflect and redirect question,' I recall Trump wanting to double the DACA roll and give them a pathway to citizenship and reassurance of not being deported; he wanting to end 'chain migration;' he wanting to end the 'diversity visa lottery;' he wanting increased 'border funding' (including the wall). All good policies, IMO, that were put before Congress (steps), but the Demos blocked 50% of deal...nothing surprising about that!!
Aren't both sides of the aisle (Demos very much more so than Repubs, IMO) guilty of obstructing meaningful progress of too many potentially good policies, especially against the dominating party...just because? Two wrongs never make a right, just like the excuses for name-calling be given, here! Someone needs to say: "The buck stops here." and let this country (this site) live in political harmony...for a change! However, I'm not naive or 'loony' enough to ever think that the twain shall ever meet!
Clocker, you generally come across as an intelligent and knowledgeable person, usually with forthright and logical opinions, so back to my very specific question to you.

The plan of the invaders is to spread out and flood the area once they get to the border.
I guess having our troops there will not help at all.

He'd only be a "turkey" if he sacrificed our culture to the invaders and rewarded them all with turkey dinners with all the trimmings for breaking U.S. law.

I hope our troops have plenty of tear gas, mustard gas and whatever other deterrent they'll need to rebuff the invaders.
