Are we supposed to hold a candlelight vigil? I'm sorry horses died of course, but I'm not going to dwell on it. I would imagine at least four people died today too.

Empire Way among 13 possible entrants in the Futurity according to:
http://hollywoodpark.com/news/desorm...futurity-chase
After running a questionable next to last in the Prevue against a less talented field at 7 furlongs he stretches out to 1 1/16. I guess the added distance might help. Handicapping off form alone he is a pass for me. Probable ML odds somewhere north of 10-1.

Empire Way will win the SA derby,Mike took the fronts off and ran a game second, the rest of the field were pretenders.

What will he be doing between now and April 7th?
Here. Maybe it will be something worthy of a nomination. You never know.

He ran a good race.
If we throw out the slop race, or treat it as an education he looks competitive.

Of all the CA bunch, he and Creative Cause are the only two can potentially compete with the Fla and NY Derby contenders. EW impressed me today and seems to be going in the right direction.

What exactly about the way he ran today impressed you? He was behind a solid pace, received a phenomenal ride, saved all kinds of ground and finished a well-beaten 2nd to a 43-1 shot with the aid of a fracas in midstretch that dropped the favorite. He did very little running and is a complete mediocrity in my opinion.
