50% Winners
I read on here once that a pro claimed a hit rate of 50% with a positive ROI of 50% as well, betting to win.
I would like to propose an experiment:
1. Anyone can post a selection they feel has a 50% or greater chance of winning.
2. A panel (of say the first 10 volunteers) will vote wether they agree (by majority).
3. Majority plays will be tracked for hit rate & ROI.
4. The experiment ends after 500 plays.
Anyone interested?
Mike

Not getting much action so I thought I would list a couple to get things started. Won't be here to follow up until later but hope some more join in.
9th at Belmont- #6 Effie Trinket and one for later 9th at Golden Gate #11, don't have the name in front of me right now but made a note and will be playing later barring no scratch.

There is no doubt it can be done....the problem is how frequently it can be done.

if you asked me to get 50% winners from 500 races it would take me 10 years, but i guarantee i can do it with horses that pay over 2-1.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not about picking winners. It's about maintaining a consistent ROI above 20%.

I forget his moniker, but a guy on this board posted his high percentage picks on a regular basis a few times and he showed a profit. It's very difficult to sustain long term.

I have always though that posters that start threads like this are looking to reverse engineer somebody else's methods. Or at least bet them for a while.
