Best Ever Belmont Wager

Not gonna lie, I've had a few.

Birdstone. Summer Bird. Jazil. Tapwrit. Palace Malice. Afleet Alex.

And of course, my namesake. Lemon Drop Kid.

I think my best ever was the belief in Palace Malice to get it done after his Derby meltdown.

I haven't had a lot of success in the Belmont, but the one I did was very good. I thought Afleet Alex was a lock and that Nolan's Cat (a maiden) would be in the trifecta.

Those were my only two thoughts so played AA / NC / ALL and AA / ALL / NC. Played the $1 tri 10x, cost $180, returned just enough per $1 that it was a signer. I don't even remember which horse ran second.

I have been left scratching my head a few times after this race. Have done better as I have gotten older. Loved Palace Malice-hit the pick 6 that day. Still can't believe Brilliant Speed couldn't run down Ruler on Ice and Stay Thirsty in 2011 (although he finished ahead of Animal Kingdom(who was slammed and JR almost came off), Shackleford, Mucho Macho Man, and Nehro).

I don't believe you had Da'Tara unless it was your birthday.

Forgot about Drosselmeyer and my Fly Down Ex. That was nice. If only First Dude would have folded to 4th.

Had him as lone speed, had a whole $5.00 to win on him as a back up.

If I remember right, someone on this forum posted him as the winner. Southern Stables or some thing along that line.

I posted on here back then Ruler on Ice and Stay Thirsty as my longshot picks and part of a 4 horse ex box. I didn't bet. This year one of my Derby picks was DQ'd and one of my Preakness picks lost the rider at the start. I'm due to hit big. Maybe I'll put some money in my TS account. My balance right now is $0.00 which is not easy to do! It's a gift I guess

I had 2000 to win on Risen Star, my biggest bet ever! Paid 6.00 I believe. Also had the Empire Maker trifecta 50 times, Point Given and Afleet Alex had a ton to win on them. Missed the trifecta with those two though. Those are my only wins in the Belmont, I don't bet the race every time, some years I just do not like it. Overall, I am up on the Belmont. The Kentucky Derby is another matter, I never bet big on that, I always lose except California Chrome.

CONQUISTADOR CIELO

i didn't play TEMPERANCE HILL, but the Greek crushed him. i waited in line a half hour to play it at the window for him, i didn't play one penny on him.

that had to be my all-time biggest mistake in my life so far and will never forget it.

LDK paid $61.50W, $26.00P, $10.50S. It was Charasmatic's run at the Triple Crown.

The 6-2 Ex of LDK and Vision and Verse was $1,537.00. It was a fun Belmont.
