Keeneland opens Friday
I don't know about you but I'm ready for fields that are full + quality. Weather for this weekend looks great! UK plays in the Final Four on Saturday... Lexington is going to be a zoo

88 horses in 10 races, not exactly being supported this year, not sure where the horses are at?
Short fields Florida, NY and now a premier meet, not looking good for many of these smaller east coast tracks.

Several connections planning to stay at Gulfstream in April before shifting to Belmont or Monmouth in May?

Looking forward to Keeneland.....if I recall...a handicapper has to pay particular attention to trainers Maker, McPeek, Graham Motion, Shug, Lopresti and Ward. ***Jockeys named Rosario, Leparoux, Castellano, Prado, Napravnik and Garcia tend to dominate. Tough to win from the very far outside in all route races over a mile.... and outside is no real disdavantage in the Sprints. At least a work over the poly is necessary for any of my key singles. Will have to refresh my memory before Friday. Any input of the track nuance from the good people here at PA is welcome "pay your money and take your chances...." Good luck!

Well, Gulfstream's excusable, considering they are engaged in a fight to the death with Calder.
But anyway, the field size is down rather significantly from last year, when they got 105 to the box. At least there's no 2yo races (and only four written for the whole meet).

Declining foal crop. 12-13k fewer horses per year than even 6 or 7 years ago. Today's 2, 3, and 4 year old crops are from a combined pool of what, 75k horses?
Yesterday's 10 horse field is going to be today's 7 horse field. It's simple math. Sad.

I am ready for them to go back to dirt. But I will enjoy the turf races.

Wesley Ward is probably going to win the training tittle there this year even if there are no 2 year races at all.
so far he has the only 2 year olds that have worked at Keeneland. if the races don't go there he is going to have to send them somewhere else. his only weakness at the 2 year old game has been training over the synthetic and running on dirt.
i am sure they will have a few 2 year old races there this meet, but nothing like they did in years past.
