Do You Love A Horse

Through my over 43 years of playing horses i have heard the phrase from countless other players including myself many years ago "I love this horse today...he can't lose etc."

Is this feeling of falling in love with a horses chances for victory today the correct strategy for long-term profit? I say absolutely not. I have rid myself of this type of thinking many years ago.

In my opinion, the correct mental approach should be to make the best percentage plays everyday keeping in mind that you never know which wager you make will be a winner despite your inner feeling of loving a horses's chances in any one individual race. When you stay with this approach day in and day out you eliminate much of the emotional responses to a losing wager simply because you know any individual bet is not more important than any other from a handicapping approach (not speaking of being alive in the Pick 6) ha ha

So the next time you hear a friend state that they LOVE a horse think about the statement. I know in my circle of friends these horses rarely win...just saying!

I think people abuse the word “love.” When I hear a buddy say that I just reply with, “You actually love the horse?”

How many times does Andy Beyer declare that he "loves" a particular horse...and he is the DEAN of American handicappers.

IMO...there in nothing wrong with "loving a horse". These types of horses are very useful in anchoring the deep horizontal wagers that have gained such popularity in today's game.

Too often the "love" is unrequited.

You know what they say: "It's better to have loved and lost..."

"loving horses"

As an owner and breeder I can state a love my horses, but , in the world of racing I takne nothing for granted.

Were I Guyana Rocky LLC, and had Randy Persua as my trainer,I'd be
singing another tune.

Check Aqu/3/31/ results in the late pick 3 and pick4

these owners had the winners of the 9th and 10th races at payouts of
136.00 and 43.00

the 1.00 double=456 (912.00 for 2.00)

!.00 pick 3- 5,323.00

.50 cent pick 4=65,094.00!!

That's how owners and/or syndicate partners truly love their horses
