NYRA apparently failed to protect its trademarks
Added to the many other things NYRA fails to do well. This is basic, guys- NYRA has held its trademark since the early 1950's, so it clearly predates these guys. Yet somehow they got through.

I know a guy who about 50 years ago named his daughter NYRA when she was born. You can’t trademark it.

Not sure about bias, but incorrect - NYRA has filed a large number of trademarks (e.g., NYRA and NYRA Bets) dating back to 1969.

NYRA is an acronym that is also a common Indian (Sanskrit)name in origin. My friend named his daughter after New York Racing Association. I guess she should be sued.

Acronyms may be trademarked (e.g. "CVS," which was originally Customers Value Service). If you're truly interested in the various NYRA trademarks, visit the USPTO website.

That's not a use in commerce.
You can name your son McDonald or Carl Jr. too.
