The US has to shut down every US Military installation in Europe for this to be even remotely believable.....BTW, why are we still there anyway?....I wonder if anyone knows the real answer, I doubt it.

I know why the U.S. has military bases throughout Europe. The U.S. is the world's most benevolent country...and cares deeply about the safety and security of Europe. That's why our country tries to safeguard Europe...even though this can only be done at great financial expense.

Yesterday was Veterans Day, and it carries over into today. This is the time to remember the heroes who took up arms and traveled to far-away lands...to put their lives at the greatest risk for the freedom that we enjoy today. I was about to answer your question, and then I thought of my own dad...who fought in Korea while representing his own country. And I can't answer the question in good conscience, under these circumstances.

I'm a Veteran, but you already knew that....Start with the Marshall Plan, the dividing of the world by the 2 Superpowers, The US and Russia, and the re-establishment of the Jewish Homeland of Israel in 1948.....Maybe there is where the answers are still found to this day.

Holy crap! We need an unbiased moderator here.

There very well may have been similar derogatory name-calling, insults etc. going on, when Obama occupied his throne, but was there a moderator back then, like there is now, whose job it is to HELP squash incivility?

Is OT going to be allowed to continue to be a Maxine Waters' "I'll do to you what you did to us" platform, or what? Jeez!

Hcap, being the bratty liberal he is, just likes to pile on offering nothing related to the topic at hand. Then has the nerve to call others chumps.

This thread is rife with the hypocrisy and blatant naivety of Trump and his supporters.

Trump is pissed because his constant belittling of NATO and our alliance system has Europe questioning if they need the United States (They don't) or if they would better going their own way...

This is an example of a Trump chicken coming home to roost. Europe is now debating itself if NATO is even worth it. The movement already has traction in Germany and France which is essentially all that is needed anyway...

Protip Trump fans: We are in Europe to protect OUR OWN interests. Europe is now considering their necessity... well done.

If only some people had said trashing a 70 year old global order we built was a mistake... if only...

I'm referring to you...

Anyone that thinks the United States should feel insulted needs to take a good long hard look at why relations are the way they are...

This comes as ZERO surprise to me and its an example of a moron being put in charge of American Foreign Policy. A total moron.

Good points!
After The Marshall Plan was implemented it looked like West Germany won WWII.
