A side note to the whole Flightline/Pacific Classic:
Kudos to Del Mar for allowing their morning line maker to make Flightline the very realistic 1/5.
So many places they would have posted him a lot higher.

I hope Life is Good makes it to the Classic. Not that I think Flightline can’t do it, but I’d like to see him chase LIG, challenge him fairly early, and see if he can put him away and still draw off on a track that’s a little tougher on speed than DMR was today.
I think LIG is the faster horse early. I know Flightline has had horses in front of him already, but I don’t think he likes it. I think he’ll pull to chase and take on LIG early enough in the race for a serious battle to occur. That will be the kind of test to show conclusively what he has in the tank. He’s obviously better than LIG to date, but he’s never hooked a horse like him and still won. It’s the extreme tests that will 100% convince me he deserves to be mentioned among the best horses I’ve seen.

I have seen that 'race shape' once before, somewhere, sometime. But just once.

I haven't been following horse racing much this year, I just watched all his races. Why the big gaps between races? He has raced like 5 times in a little less than a year and a half. No one has even come close to him. It almost looks like he has this high cruising speed and is just out for a stroll.

I will have to be in the minority on this one. Some have compared Flightline to Secretariat and I agree. I agree they are two very overrated horses. Sure they have both ran outstanding numbers. They also have/had very little if any competition to run against. Also let’s take into consideration very small field sizes. Get into trouble or have a bad start with 10-12 entries in a race it changes the complexion rather quickly....not so much in a small 6 horse field where recovery is much easier. I will never be impressed with these small field win super horses. Clearly these horses were born at a good time with no competition to run with.
BTW . Someone mentioned not being able to make any money with Flightline. Well next time use the horse as a free square in the pick 4 and 5. I did and made some better then decent money.

You do realize the fields are small because a lot of trainers don't what to get their horse annihilated. You called Secretariat, very overrated. Are you one of those guys so excited about NFL football season openers your breakfast orange juice is half vodka?

Timeform Europe 143
Beyer 126
Waiting for TimeformUS (pace adjusted) and TG (ground adjusted).
Then comes the fun part, debating them.
