He doused himself in fossil fuel
The helicopter that airlifted him used fossil fuel
So...his "protest" literally left a much larger carbon footprint than if he would have just stayed home.
Democrats aren't really going to miss him, anyway, since in death- he will still vote democrat in upcoming elections (even if he wasn't a democrat in life)

Here's a man so dedicated to what he believes he's giving up the rest of his life not to actually save a planet, but to express his hopes that we will save this planet. A planet that doesn't need saving. From a threat that is a theory based on some climate observations we assume may lead to something we don't want to happen, but aren't sure because it never happened before. And so we don't know what climate change will bring in the long run. But, this man presumes to be so sure that he's giving up his life on the theory.
