If one loves his own life more than he loves God, then he will forfeit his soul. More than a few OT prophets were martyred for being faithful in their service to YHWH.

Mammals appeared around 50 million years ago. Humans have been around for about 100,000 to 200,000 years. All this is fact. There is simply no way the Eden story is not a myth.
