I'm surprised nobody here commented on the DQ of Magnificent Ride from 2nd to 5th in the 2nd at SA last Friday. I thought this was super weird. The jock on the Grazen Sun rushed right into a hole in between three other horses that was closing, on the backstretch with 4 1/2 furlongs to get back into the race, and then dramatically took up as the hole closed. The stewards DQ'd the for causing it, by supposedly bearing in on another horse who then had to close the hole.
I thought that was a bad decision for any number of reasons.

Another weird one at Santa Anita on Friday in the 3rd race. They took down the open lengths winner, Flint Stroll, after a jockey's claim of foul by the well beaten second horse, because Flint Stroll drifted out to make his run three wide and pushed the Barnfiled out just a bit as he did it.

It was a whip strike, not the drift.

That's a fair debate, but more often than not a whip strike results in a DQ whether or not a place is lost.

This might be one of the worst dq's ive seen, up there with Buena Vista in the Jpn Cup years ago. Ive seen a whole lot worse at the final fence in a close finish not get called (been trying to find the one at Ascot years ago that probably should have been a dq that wasn't)

Belmont Race 2 05/08/22
Terrible call by the stewarts. FWIW, I'm just casually watching today and put in a $1 show wager on the just to get free pps to take a look.
Anyway, 3 to 5 favorite ran out of the money and the show bet paid $1.45

It was about as bad a non-DQ as you will ever see.

The steward's couldn't see the the wake of hoof prints that go from the 4 path all the way out to 12 path?! Getoutoftown... I don't believe it. That's just embarassing.

Ctown 05-28 race 6
I am getting so sick of inept judging. Really may have to stick with harness racing
Live with and : in everything. Tossed the awful fave and still cant win
Sets the pace on the rail. Drifts out top of lane making and take inside paths in the lane.
drifts back in causing the who wins the race to bump the and they take down the
Goodbye DD P3 p4 p5 and p6 on an awful call,

I thought the DQ of in the first at Finger Lakes was exceptionally soft. I didn't expect it to go from the replays.

I had the so I admittedly was hoping for the DQ. I believe the judges must have thought the may have cost the second place. But I did not expect the DQ but I see why they made the call.
