Homicides are up because Democratic Mayors, City Councils, Governors and state legislators are turning a blind eye towards violence.

They are seeking to trivialize what were formerly major crimes.

They are seeking to do away with bail.

In short, they are seeking to turn the criminal into a martyr or a saint.

Go out and commit crimes! Kill people who have done you wrong! We owe it to you!

It's funny how you blame Donald Trump for people doing bad things (like some so-called rise in right-wing terrorism/violence due to his "dog-whistling"), but you don't attribute this rise in homicide in mostly Democrat cities to the DOG WHISTLES they are blowing (ie. "it's ok...you'll likely get away with most anything currently...we are defunding cops and getting rid of bail and releasing people from jail early...").

It's like a ****ing clown car full of cucks around here...refusing to see what is staring them right in the face for months.

It's why we're moving out of Dallas county (far away). Same shit is going on here, any theft of under $750 in the county is tossed out of court. It's spawning a new generation of criminals who think they can make a living stealing off people / stores. It simply leads to more criminal behavior

As soon as we find the right house (turn of the century, decent condition, ^2500sf) in a town with good schools for the grand daughter, we're gone.

We live in a very safe part of the county (Sunnyvale) but going to the store after dark in Mesquite or Garland is quite the experience at times

The article seems to put a great deal of blame on the court system. I don't think most murderers have courts or prison time in mind when they kill.
A combination of all the bullshit over the past year has people angry as hell. Many ordinary folks are losing it. They find themselves in a place they never imagined before. Their families are upset and embattled, and their lives are turning to shit. I'm actually surprised the spike in murders isn't greater.
