Stopped by Mahoning valley racino to make a bet tonight and the machine ate my $100 bill. Apparently there was no one working in racing yet dozens of people betting on the machines. Security said there is nothing they can do
And I have to come back tomorrow. This has Happened to
Me at least three times since it’s opened. Not once have I been comped or even given an apology. Is customer service this bad at other tracks as well?

It happened to me several times...and I took measures to rectify the situation. I now use only $10 bills at the machines, to keep my costs at a reasonable level.

Also talk about a super spreader facility. There were probably thousands of people playing slots tonight. Dozens betting races. Yet they canceled live racing here for a few weeks due to covid. Last I checked the backstretch workers are still working and don’t get a vacation. As long as their big cash cow the slots are open they don’t care. That place is a joke.
I’m not even mad about the money bc I know I’ll get it but it’s the principle of how stupid people are. There isn’t a way they can give me $100 and they can get reimbursed from racing tomorrow ? How hard is it? Instead I have to spend more money for gas and an hour lost on my life.

It's been a long time since I had to deal with this particular issue, but I remember my vouchers being eaten a lot more often than the actual money. I miss being at the track live sometimes, but I don't miss stuff like that.

Update. The following day I called in the morning to see what time I could pick up the money. The guy responded with something to the tune of “they’re working on it and they would call me. He went to confirm the phone number the security worker took the night before and naturally one digit was wrong. I showed up early afternoon and got my money no sweat. I suggested a better policy since this wasn’t the first time this has happened and the worker blamed covid and reduced hours. I told her this had happened to me multiple times before covid and nothing was different. I then asked why they would take bets if there were no tellers or even workers in the simulcast area during certain hours. Again I got a “covid” answer. I then told her that the security guard had suggested I be comped in food vouchers which is a joke to me and she said unfortunately we can’t do that in racing. She then said she might be able to get me a free program. I laughed lightly and thanked her for her time. I then asked her to suggest a new plan for situations like this and then I left. Basically my take was Mahoning doesn’t care about racing at all as long as the slots are turned on.

I should add I’m not surprised at all. They just had racing shut down for a few weeks bc of covid but the casino remained open. Supposedly racing resumes tomorrow and includes the $200k MVR sprint !

Same thing happened to me, but it was at a bank ATM. I really needed some cash, stopped at an ATM...and the thing ate my card! It was after hours, so I had to call the next day and they sent me another card.
