If the off-topics were closed down...would we talk more about the horses? If we no longer argued about politics...would we start talking about other things, which we may actually KNOW something about? If I was sure that the answer to these questions was a "YES"...then I would suggest the idea that the off-topics here should go through a major renovation. But I think that the answer to this question is a "NO"...and feel that tampering in a big way with the off-topics will alienate a lot of posters who come here solely for the political arguments that we get into here.

Dealing with an unreasonable argument is best done by throwing it back in their face.
At times I become unreasonable on purpose, that's the best way to do it in my opinion given the unreasonableness.
I vote for eliminating all Political Discussion on this Board.

Little doubt that Trump sparks emotional responses on both sides. And PA is no different than real life nowadays to be honest.
We see the shitshow in real life every day.
The real problem is that the extremes on either side are what drive all the rhetoric, emotion, and discussion. It is very difficult to have a rational discussion regarding politics in an internet environment. (Hell, it is tough to have one face to face in public.)
Go look at Twitter. It is a bigger shitshow than here.
