LeBron needed a hollywood guy like Phil Jackson or VanGundy to come out of retirement and stroke his ego while the media hyped it all up.
Blatt seems like at the very least an above-average NBA coach, but he certainly had ego issues of his own. He wasn't able to use his strengths with Cleveland.

Lebron has now had 4 coaches, basically 4 guys nobody has ever heard of. He hasn't had a 'brand name' coach yet.

Duncan didn't play well last year in GSW and his age is somewhat of a drawback vs. a team that can run like Dubs, so I don't think his absence will be that much of a factor. To the extent that I have a rooting in the interest in the NBA, the Spurs are my team, but still see GSW winning this at home. At best for Spurs, game is still GSW -4 which is too close to call for me. Hoping for a great game, not another Cleveland dumpster fire.

I'm just fortunate I can watch the game on local TV. I don't have NBA TV, and its hard to believe they didn't schedule this game on a night where TNT or ESPN could air it. A lot of people don't have NBA TV.

Good point. Although I feel that Pat Riley probably contributed in some capacity during the early Erik Spoelstra years.

Good point about Riles.
I think you can read a lot Into who is selecting these coaches, Lebron is SO big in the game that he's basically commissioner. Gilbert couldn't have gotten him back without promising to let Lebron make decisions on teammates and coaches. I wonder if Lebron wanted Kevin love because that seems kinda like they're not on the same page. Love is going to get traded I'm thinking, him being there just isn't working from a chemistry perspective.

That was an ass kicking. The Warriors don't just win; they beat the hell out of the opponent. I saw the Jordan/Pippen/Rodman team that won 72 games, but they'd coast and win by 8-10 points. They didn't blow teams out like this Warriors team.

I wasn't talking about this season. You said that Cleveland wasn't beating Golden State last year with a full deck and I disagreed. Cleveland had a 2-1 lead with game 4 being played in Cleveland. Had Cleveland been healthy I believe they would have won the series.

Who would win by 8-10? I'm assuming/hoping you mean Jordan's team.

This is one game the NBA would hope people buy if they were cord cutters or didn't get NBA TV. My hunch is that it went into the four figure area which is a lot because paying seven bucks for a game is nuts imo.

I still think they don't. We know Irving played game 1. Game 2 was a 2 point OT win by Cleveland. They didn't win the game; the Warriors lost it. They missed 27 threes; Curry, IMO the best shooter I've ever seen, was 2 of 15 from beyond the arc. They also were whistled for 31 fouls, sending the Cavs to the FT line for 40 attempts. Yet, it still was a 2 point game.
I bet Cleveland in game 3. I believe the single most important game for a series underdog/road team is that first game back at home. Would Irving have helped Cleveland? Sure, he probably would've. Love? At this point, we have to wonder how much difference he would've made.
Cavs are a team where the whole is less than the sum of the parts.
And yes, the Jordan Bulls were the team I was referring to about settling for 8-10 point wins.

So Blake Griffin hit a guy on the Clippers staff and broke his hand. Wow, give him a smelly towel or something?

He is a bully off the court with guys 5'9 but when a guy challenges him on the court he turns into a coward.

Wow. Thought it could be a decent game and instead another dumpster fire. Time to give the trophy to GSW for this year and suspend remaining games? Although Pop's shot at Cavs front office was pretty good - think Kerr and Carlisle also reamed Griffin for Blatt firing.
Can Spurs do anything to match up better? I think, to some extent, Pop was experimenting with post-season lineups. I think it's likely we'll see less of TP and LMA and more of D. West, Diaw and Jonathon Simmons. Despite picking up a lot of fouls in a short stretch, Simmons didn't do a bad job on Curry. The defensive rotations of Spur bigs were surprisingly sluggish, which makes me wonder how amped-up the team was for this game.
I think this win tied GSW with the 95-96 Bulls for best start at this point in the schedule. Would be interested in seeing how these two match up. Of course, Ron Harper has already said that Bulls team would sweep Dubs.;-).

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes but if I were that equipment manager I would be conducting a search right now for which law firm I was going to move forward with.
