I think their shock was mostly over losing their beloved horse .
Laminitis is just that complex . This is why there are foundations and
ongoing conferences on the disease .
Secretariat was euthanized when he foundered . His owners , I'm sure
would have loved to have him live a much longer life .
There is no reason to blame anyone for the unfortunate death of "Intense Holiday" .
Some horses have better outcomes when stricken . Many don't .
