very impressive; the dosage players won't like him going long. Dam threw some good horses. A lot to like; Constitution seems like an excellent young sire

Very impressive, I daresay more impressive than anything leading up to and including the BC juvenile...

Yea that was. I was lucky to catch the double (think it paid around $60?)...
There was the Duarte? shipper, and the Shadwell? Kiaran McLaughlin horse, but it looked like a spread race to me.
I haven't watched the replay, but even with what appeared to be a good momentum+setup, I was surprised at how much Independence Hall had in the stretch.
*reminded me of the debate in Handicapping regarding a horse winning under a drive vs. geared down - this was one of the rare horses on dirt that really did 'have more'
It feels like one of those who come back and lose at a short price in the next start or two, but he could be any type.

It seems these 2yos that throw huge numbers fail to go on. Too much too soon. Real or imagined?

Are you against 2yo racing now too?

Very impressive. You should post this race in the Triple Crown Trail section since the guys over there love to speculate on how these horses will develop.

We all seem to remember the ones that don't, but plenty run big and go on just fine. Beholder is the best example I can think of off the top of my head.

There are plenty of examples.
I wonder why anyone responds to that guy....not that I haven't been guilty of falling into his web in the past.

He was impressive. It wasn't like the race came out of nowhere either. He was bet down to favoritism first time out and drew off quite nicely after being a little slow out of the gate. So it's less likely to be a one time freak performance given it was already clear he had at least some decent talent.

If you got that off pedigree query, I would not use it. Equiline is more correct these days. Long story, but PQ has comingled some stuff from an aussie site and until they update (they haven't been keeping up, nor with the new chefs that the guy who took over from Dr. Roman has named, etc.) I would just use equiline. This is what they have:
Dosage Profile: 3 5 6 0 0 (14)
Dosage Index: 3.67
Center of Distribution: +0.79
Family 21-a would still be correct.
Dosage of 3.67 would not be too bad these days as those numbers are going up over 3.00 in last decade.
I would certainly use this horse in prep races, but like any other horse this time of year, can't say he's a classic distance runner per se since there is a lot of training ahead of him yet.

I was going to say that Nashua winners--fast or slow--fail to go on.
But then I realized it's only the ones trained by Kiaran McLaughlin.

I'll play against his next out.
The track played quick and up front quite a bit that weekend.
You had to be near the top turning for home or you were cooked.
I suspect you put him on a fair track you'll get a different result.
Added bonus.........I didn't care for the Nashua field very much.
