......................

I love this song - many may remember it became a scandalous thing
the singer had just got braces and the band was loud and fuzzy and the words were unintelligible

rumors spread among the kids that the lyrics were real dirty - for that era
specifically we said the lyrics were - "Tonight at 10 - I'll .... her again"

but that wasn't true - the FBI investigated
nothing came of it - nobody could make out what the words actually were

IMHO - not everyone will agree - it's one of the greatest rock 'n roll songs of all time - it has that rough, tough feel that was one of things that made rock so great

that blonde in the yellow dress at 1:33 sure looks niche to me

Your post reminded me of another amateur singer...a true unknown...whose voice and songwriting I really love. When American Idol had a songwriting competition years ago, she and her writing partner made the semi-finals. Her site is down (I think she got married a couple of years ago) but I found her songs via the Wayback Machine. Unfortunately, the mp3s take forever to load from there. Her profile is still up on Bandmix so have a listen. Only three songs but better than nothing. Pennies in the Water is my favorite. Via Lauren

Nice voice as well. Not a fan of PJ, but I tried not to hold that against her. I listened to a few others she uploaded. I have a feeling there's a lot more vocal power in her, but the song choices didn't let her unleash it. I hope she keeps developing that talent. I can't sing a lick, but if I ever found that genie, I know what my first wish would be.

Thaskalos - Brubeck's Take 5 was the only jazz instrumental ever to crack the pop music rankings

in May of 1961 it was no. 25 on Billboard's top 100

That would be an interesting thread on its own. I will have to think about it. Millennials and Gen X-ers need not apply.
