More people died in the flu epidemic of 1918 than were killed in WWII. Estimates go as high as 100 million deaths. The total population of the earth in 1900 was 5 billion. That's 100 deaths for every 5000 people or 2%. 2% of todays U.S. population is 7 million people.

In 1918 there were no jet planes, few cars or interstate roadways. Today a similar epidemic would be far worse.

Hopefully 102 years of medical progress will keep that from happening.

They've got a robot (not an AI) treating one of the patients.

That is hardly much ado about nothing.
Hopefully you don't need to lose a loved one to change your lack of concern.
Swine flu
SARS
MERS
Ebola.

People panic.

Let the govt do their job.

I refuse to panic over diseases.

There are times when precautions are necessary.

But don’t be a reactionary.

For once we agree. I'd rather have than this illness than ebola. This seems no different than a bad flu bug. The young , elderly, and weak are susceptible to death from it. A healthy individual not so much. Sounds a lot like the flu and any number of common illnesses.

No one is telling you to panic.
But saying "Much ado about nothing", as you did, tells us that an ignorance bug is making the rounds too.

The planet can regulate itself better the people can. Get used to new biological agents that kill millions of people as world population passes sustainable levels.

We have managed to avoid a repeat of that horrible disease because of the much ado we give them when they pop up.
