If this pick-4 payout is above $666.60, then you've hit the cap of 15%/$100 bonus/rebate.....

NYRA Bets just called and yes, it is a separate pool (the only P4 pool available for those races) only available to NYRA bets Customers, On track, and certain other in state ADW's/Otb's.
I asked him about limiting the pool size and he said yes, it's part of the promotion to get NYRA bets more Customers. He is aware that they might make a lot more money short term from takeout from a much larger pool. I guess I'll take a look at the pool size and decide whether or not to play it.

Interesting...pretty much everything I've already said here...
Like I said, where was the confusing part?

Have you ever seen a promotion intentionally limiting pool size? First time I've ever seen something like this where they had a choice.

If they really wanted to get more members then they could offer 40% bonus to nyrabets.com members and cap it at $200 but still leave the pool open to everyone ....that way handle goes up and more people join nyrabets.com and it is a win win ...this current promotion just makes me not want to play the sequence

That's actually a very sound and creative idea arw....some on here would argue that nyra knows all, but I agree that the premise of the promotion they are currently offering has several shortcomings

And some on here love to argue that NYRA knows nothing.
Bet it or don't bet. But I would argue that some of you would be best served NOT to try and turn everything into a crisis.

I actually think this was a good idea in premise....just could have been executed in a way that was much more advantageous to both nyra and the players imo

I actually like the idea. Now if only NJ residents could use more than one ADW

Actually the $100 cap is ridiculous.
Eliminates anyone that would play significant money.

Is the "Grand Slam" bet at NYRA tracks also a NYRA bets and on track bet at Aqu/Bel/Sar only? If so isnt this the same scenario except the GS doesnt have a bonus on it?

That would be a tough argument to win because no one has made it a crisis.
