Why should those predisposed to suicide because of pre-existing mental illness shelter in place to save your sorry ass? Every man for himself right?

So Harry, do you still think the Asians got the pandemic right?

Japan has an extremely low number of covid deaths. 2,028 Deaths.
However in japan suicide has always been a major cause of death before covid.
over 35,000 in 2010. Over 20,000 in 2019.

A great article about what my city(Melbourne) has accomplished, despite the right wing nut jobs(as distinct from genuine caring conservatives that are not entirely self entitled/centred arsewipes)
Now 30 or 31 days, no cases and no deaths in a city of ~5 million people, despite the efforts of said nut jobs.

Awesome Story Steve,,.....
But wouldn't it be fair to say that there are two sides to every story???
"The lockdown has slashed A$100 million ($71 million) a day from economic activity and through August and September resulted in a daily average of 1,200 jobs being lost across the state, Luke Yeaman, a Treasury department official, told a parliamentary panel this week".
"Melbourne chef Scott Pickett warned that ongoing capacity restrictions would continue to hit restaurants and cafes and that many would fold once government wage subsidies end early next year".
"The social costs are also mounting. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners says demand for health services nationwide has risen 15% since early March, and by 31% between September and October in Victoria. Alcohol consumption has risen and domestic violence".
Now I don't know or pretend to know what's best for the people of Melbourne. They chose their elected officials, not me. All I am saying is there are two sides to every coin. Let's not make it out to be a bed of roses with gum drops and rain bows lighting that afternoon sky.....
spiked. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-for-the-world

You guys are so full of shit, it's insane.
The real story is that COVID was never, ever, as deadly as it was made out to be in the beginning...as predicted.

Trump did accomplish much in his four years...did you account for this in your increased likability calculations?

i just noticed today the mileage on my car. i bought the car in March and my odometer reads less than 3000 miles. i usually put about 15,000 or more on in a year, this means that not only am i spending less in gasoline and maintenance, but since i am not going anywhere i am not spending money on movies, restaurants, hotels, airfare and a few other things. of course i am pretty board. i wound up changing my sleeping habits. instead of working out during the day, i go for a run in the wee hours of the night. i just got back from a short run tonight, i ran 3.7 miles, i put my earbuds on and counted all the parked cars. i didn't see one other human out there and i never wear a mask at these hours. in about an hour i am going to go on my Peloton for about 45 minutes and go back to bed and wake up for the first race at the BIG A,

it really goes like this. you walk into a testing place and get a positive for the corona. you get placed in a hospital for treatment, 3 weeks later you get a heart attack and die.. the hospital marks that death down as coming from the corona. did you die from a heart attack, the corona or both? one can surmise that the corona brought the heart attack or you were a high candidate and you were going to get the heart attack at some point anyway. then you can have questions as to were you going to survive the heart attack if you didn't have the corona?

Don't you think all the top notch epidemiologists and infectious disease experts and health care professionals worldwide, who do this stuff for a living, have not thought of your various objections?
Do you think Johns Hopkins has not determined what is and what is not knowable?
Or are we, the amateurish posters on an off topic racing board, the only ones to discover their apparent failures, that Johns Hopkins was just to stupid to catch?

You put FAR to much faith in experts. There’s too much group think among specialists to trust that they think beyond the nose on their face. Give me 10 intelligent people off the street and I’d trust them on many issues.
To your specific experts, I’ve seen nothing from epidemiologists that separates them from mystics and palm readers. They have been abysmal. From Fauci to the WHO.
